At age 16, Alan left home to follow his dreams of joining the Royal Marines. Having completed his training, Alan became a fully-fledgedRoyal Marine Commandoand completed17 years of serviceat the front line of the world’s most hostile environments. Citing that he visited 50 countries by the time he reached 30 years of age, Alan has encountered many challenges that have forced him to have a resilient mindset and be a fearless leader. Leaving the Royal Marines, Alan continued to have a fearless nature, taking on various polar challenges. In 2000, heled the first British team unsupported to the Geographic North Pole, having set off from Canada 70 days prior alongside Charlie Paton.

Other prominent expeditions of Alan’s include theplanning and execution of the first crossing of Iceland on skis in winter, a gruelling feat that encompassed dragging sledges weighing an incredible 240 pounds! In just 47 days, Alan and his team completed 500 miles across Iceland, further solidifying his name in the history books of Great British explorers. He latercompleted the Yukon Arctic Ultra Challenge,crossed Greenland in the Feet of Green initiativeand completed over a dozen North Pole expeditions with countless business dignitaries.
