Gerard Grech is the managing director of Founders at the University of Cambridge, where he leads a strategic initiative accelerating the formation and scaling of deep technology companies. Previously, he founded and served as chief executive of Tech Nation, Europe's best performing technology growth accelerator according to PitchBook. Under his leadership, Tech Nation shaped Europe's most productive digital ecosystem, growing 17x in value over ten years and helping create over 1300 companies including major successes like Monzo and Deliveroo.

In 2024, Gerard was appointed CBE by the King for his services to the technology sector. He co-led the UK Government FinTech Review in 2022, whose recommendations created the UK's Centre for Finance, Technology and Innovation. Currently, he supports Cambridge University scientists and entrepreneurs developing innovations in sustainability, biotech, and generative AI within what ranks as Europe's best performing science unicorn hub and the world's third-ranked ecosystem for technological innovation output.
