Hanoch Budin was born in 1962 in Canada to Holocaust survivors. At the young age of three, he went with his parents to Israel. In June of 1982 in Lebanon, as anIDFsoldier, he was hit by a mortar shell and lost his right arm. There on the ground, covered with dirt and blood, shouting with pain, Hanoch began hisnew life full of painand a long rehab process.
After a long rehabilitation period, Hanoch chose to be anathleteand began his athletic journey that has been going on for more than twenty years, within the framework of theIsraeli National Teamin swimming. Hanoch took part in sixParalympic Gamesand won a total of eight medals, two of them being gold, alongside breaking two world records; this being amongst many of his international achievements. During that, he kept on studying and built himself a long managing career indifferent jobsin theIsraeli Capitalmarket and established a family with two sons. Hanoch made his business career in the capital market in the field ofinsurance, pensionandinvestmentsin leading companies.
In recent years, he has been mainly involved inmarketing, consultingandentrepreneurship. He was one of the significant characters in the Israeli version of the famous television reality show:Survivor, proving his ability, over his disability.
