Jack Romero

Due to a fierce determination to reach the highest level of success, Jack Romero turned the£90 in his pocketwhen he arrived on UK shores in his teens, into the fortune he built with BMED, which he latersold to BMI for £30 million. Romero has delivered two TEDx talks; the first came in 2017 when Romero gave a speech entitled 'Success Is In Your Hands, Make It Possible & Defy The Impossible', sharing his dramatic journey with guests at the University of Warwick. His second came in 2019 as he delivered a speech entitled, 'Human Capital vs. Artificial Intelligence - Let The Battle Begin'. His rags to riches story has since been covered by the BBC as part of theirMy Storyseries. The spirit of ambition and never giving up lies at the heart of Romero's aspirations being fulfilled.

Having lived rough when he journeyed from Beirut to Britain at the age of 17, back in 1979, he would admit that: "The dream was alive in my mind all the time. " Romero worked to afford pilot lessons, originally spending a week's wages on a lesson. Five years later he achieved his pilot license. The next decade would see Romero struggle to get a job as a pilot and work in various roles as a waiter and aerial photographer. He invested what he learned and searched all hours of the day for the information he craved. By 1994 he had gained the investment he required and his first flight took off for his home city of Beirut, a moment of sheer elation for him.

Romero's experience of starting an airline from scratch has proven that the biggest of obstacles can be overcome. His astonishing desire and "never say die" attitude was key to his remarkable rise.
