About
James Watson was an American molecular biologist who co-authored the 1953 paper proposing the double helix structure of DNA, building on research by Rosalind Franklin and Raymond Gosling. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962 alongside Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins. His discovery fundamentally changed our understanding of heredity and enabled modern genetics and biotechnology.
