Jamie Andrew
Mountaineer who lost hands and feet on Mont Blanc | Resilience and adversity speaker

About
Jamie Andrew survived one of the most harrowing ordeals in mountaineering history when he spent five nights trapped on Mont Blanc's north face in January 1999. The experience left him with severe hypothermia and frostbite, ultimately requiring the amputation of both his hands and feet. His rescue remains one of the most daring operations in Alpine history.
Tragically, his climbing partner Jamie Fisher did not survive the ordeal. Rather than allowing his injuries to define his limitations, Jamie embarked on an extraordinary journey of recovery and achievement. He learned to walk again and went on to complete marathons and Ironman triathlons, demonstrating remarkable physical and mental determination.
He also returned to the mountains that nearly claimed his life, taking up skiing and climbing once more. Through his speaking, Jamie shares powerful insights on resilience, overcoming seemingly impossible adversity, and finding the motivation to rebuild and thrive after life-changing tragedy.
