About
Joe Simpson survived a near-fatal accident while descending the West Face of Siula Grande in 1985, breaking his leg and facing the mountain alone after being separated from his climbing partner. His book Touching the Void became an international bestseller and BAFTA-winning documentary.
Despite doctors saying he would never climb again, Joe returned to mountaineering after six operations and two years of rehabilitation. His second book The Beckoning Silence won the 2003 National Outdoor Book Award and became a Channel 4 documentary.
Joe speaks on teamwork, perseverance, and mental resilience.
