Juliana Rotich is a Kenyan technologist and entrepreneur dedicated to building technology solutions for the developing world. As a TED Fellow, she co-founded BRCK, a rugged mobile WiFi device designed to provide reliable connectivity in areas with limited infrastructure.
Rotich also helped incubate Kenya's iHub, a hub for young tech entrepreneurs. Through her work, she is driving innovation in emerging markets and expanding digital access to communities that have historically been underserved.

Meet BRCK, Internet access built for Africa
Tech communities are booming all over Africa, says Nairobi-based Juliana Rotich, cofounder of the open-source software Ushahidi. But it remains challenging to get and stay connected in a region with frequent blackouts and spotty Internet hookups. So Rotich and friends developed BRCK, offering resilient connectivity for the developing world.
