Roy Horgan

Roy Horgan grew up within a fourth-generation family food business in Cork and began his career in corporate banking. When it was time to leave banking in 2006 the portfolio that Roymanaged and invested within had assets of c. €2bn, located throughout Europe and North America. Roy holds a B. Sc. in Business and Finance, a Diploma in Stockbroking and a Diploma in International Selling.

At 27, Roy made his first venture into entrepreneurship where he co-founded a dye sensitised solar cell firm, SolarPrint which specialised in the development of self-powered indoor sensors. SolarPrint invested c. €7m in the technology and its customers includedIntel, Analog Devices and Bell Labs. After SolarPrint Roy founded MarketHub Technologies Limited in 2013. MarketHub uses data analytics software to help retailers break the cycle of unprofitable discounting, manage stock allocation and reduce food waste.

In 2017 MarketHub was acquired by a French digital pricing company SES-imagotag plc (Market Cap c. €400m). MarketHub's customers include Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer, Dixons Carphone, SPAR, Budgens and Londis. Roy is currently CEO of SES-imagotag plc for the UK & Ireland and sits on the group executive committee. Recently Roy was invited tojoin the Advisory Board of a newly formed Venture Capital firmcalled Astanor founded in Luxembourg by Eric Armchambeau (formerly Balderdon Capital, Benchmark Capital and Wellington Partners) and George Coelho (formerly Intel Capital and Balderdon, Benchmark Capital).
