Simon Wheatcroft
Blind Ultramarathon Runner | Ran 250 Miles Boston to NYC | Works with IBM on Accessibility Tech

About
Simon Wheatcroft became blind at 17 due to a genetic eye disorder and vowed never to quit anything because of it again. He ran 250 miles from Boston to New York to start the 2014 NYC Marathon, completing 16 miles unaided before a technology failure.
He finished 83 miles of a 100-mile Cotswolds race after just months of training. Simon partnered with IBM to develop navigation technology for blind runners and attempted to become the first blind person to complete the Four Deserts Marathon, covering 90 miles of the 155-mile desert race.
He speaks on pushing limits, accessibility, and overcoming obstacles.
