About
Ethan Braden is a marketing and communications leader who serves as Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Texas A&M University, a role he stepped into after leading marketing and communications as Executive Vice President and CMCO at Purdue University. Earlier in his career he spent more than a decade in marketing and sales leadership at Eli Lilly and Company, where he helped build and launch billion-dollar pharmaceutical brands including Cymbalta and Jardiance.
Braden's work centers on brand strategy for large, complex institutions and on the discipline of building a marketing function inside organizations that have not traditionally treated marketing as central. He is a recurring presence on the marketing-conference circuit, speaking at Adweek Brandweek, where he joined a session on the future marketer, and at Content Marketing World, alongside appearances at other Adweek marketing summits.
On stage he brings a builder's view of brand and content, drawing on the contrast between consumer pharmaceutical marketing and the work of positioning a university to talk about how teams establish marketing as a growth driver. He is based in College Station, Texas.
