Multi-touch sensing pioneer | Computer scientist who changed how we interact with screens

🇺🇸New York, United States1 talk

About

Jeff Han developed multi-touch sensing technology at NYU's Courant Institute that fundamentally changed how humans interact with computers. Unlike older touch screens that recognized only single points, his breakthrough allowed screens to detect multiple simultaneous touches—the foundation for every smartphone and tablet interface today.

His 2006 TED demonstration went viral and caught the attention of technology leaders worldwide. Jeff founded Perceptive Pixel, later acquired by Microsoft, to commercialize the technology.

He speaks on human-computer interaction, innovation, and how research becomes revolutionary products.
