Touria El Glaoui is the Founder and Chair of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, the first leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary African art. Launched in 2013, 1-54 has expanded to New York, London, and Marrakech, introducing global audiences to cutting-edge African artists.
As an expert in cultural diplomacy, El Glaoui has received numerous awards, including the Knight of the National Order of Merit from the President of France. Art fair curator Touria El Glaoui is on a mission to showcase vital new art from African nations and the diaspora. She shares beautiful, inspiring, thrilling contemporary art that tells powerful stories of African identity and history -- including works by Senegalese photographer Omar Victor Diop, Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj and Zimbabwean painter Kudzanai-Violet Hwami.
