Alex Ridout
Clinical Lecturer in Women and Children's Health | King's College London

About
Dr Alexandra Ridout is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London whose work explores how simple technology can transform maternal healthcare. From AI-powered ultrasound to the national scale-up of the CRADLE vital signs alert device across Sierra Leone, her research focuses on designing innovations that work in the real world, especially for women too often left behind by healthcare systems.
She co-leads major global maternal health programmes including CRIBS and CRADLE SMART, and works across both the NHS and sub-Saharan Africa to improve care for high-risk pregnancy. Her work brings together medicine, technology, implementation science, and community partnership to rethink how we deliver safer pregnancy care at scale.
