Tanni Grey-Thompson won 11 Paralympic gold medals across five Games, becoming the most decorated British Paralympian in history. She set over 30 world records in wheelchair racing before retiring in 2007.
Grey-Thompson was elevated to the House of Lords as a crossbench peer and has served on numerous sports bodies including chairing UK Active. She holds multiple honorary doctorates and has advocated for disability rights throughout her career.
