The Enduring Power of Metal
Mocked, maligned, and misunderstood, Heavy Metal is alive and kicking over 50 years since its inception. The genre's founders and fans rabidly continue to live the lifestyle even as they themselves turn gray. Why has this music connected so powerfully with people and what does it mean to live an entire life by the values found in the world's most extreme genre of music? Join Sebastian Bach, Geezer Butler, Wendy Dio, and Eddie Trunk as they discuss the evolution of Heavy Metal and where it stands in the music industry today. About SXSW: SXSW dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. An essential destination for global professionals, this year’s online event features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, professional development and a variety of networking opportunities.
