Eleni Gabre-Madhin is the founder and former CEO of the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange, which she established in 2008. Under her leadership, the ECX became the largest and most successful agricultural commodity exchange in Africa.
Gabre-Madhin previously worked at the World Bank and the UN's International Fund for Agricultural Development, where she advised developing nations on agricultural policy. Her pioneering work in building digital infrastructure to empower smallholder farmers has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Yara Prize for Africa's Green Revolution.
