About
Frederick Balagadde is a pioneer in microfluidics, the science of manipulating tiny amounts of fluids. As a TED speaker, he has captivated audiences with his work on portable, low-cost diagnostics that can detect diseases in remote areas.
Balagadde holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the California Institute of Technology and was previously a Research Scientist at IBM's Almaden Research Center. His inventions have the potential to transform global healthcare by making essential medical tests accessible to underserved populations.
