Jackson Katz
Social Theorist & Filmmaker | Challenging Masculinity Norms

About
Jackson Katz is a social theorist and filmmaker who has been pioneering approaches to gender violence prevention education in schools, the military, and the sports culture for over 30 years. He is the creator of the influential documentary Tough Guise, which helped transform the national conversation about the roots of male violence.
Katz's research-driven keynotes provide new frameworks for understanding the relationship between traditional masculine norms and the rise of sexual assault, mass shootings, and other social problems. By empowering audiences to reimagine masculinity, he inspires cultural change around issues of gender, media, and violence.

Violence against women -- it's a men's issue
Domestic violence and sexual abuse are often called "women's issues." But in this bold, blunt talk, Jackson Katz points out that these are intrinsically men's issues -- and shows how these violent behaviors are tied to definitions of manhood. A clarion call for us all -- women and men -- to call out unacceptable behavior and be leaders of change.
