Mitchell Besser is the Founder and CEO of mothers2mothers, a nonprofit organization that trains and employs women living with HIV as community health workers across 8 African countries. Under his leadership, mothers2mothers has reached over 11 million women and families, reducing mother-to-child HIV transmission rates by over 90% in the communities it serves. Besser has been recognized with the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and the Clinton Global Citizen Award for his pioneering work to strengthen maternal and child health in sub-Saharan Africa.
