Molly Neuman co-founded the Riot Grrrl movement in 1991 as drummer of Bratmobile and co-publisher of the zine that coined the phrase. She co-owned Berkeley's Lookout! Records before moving into music industry leadership, holding roles including Head of Music at Kickstarter, Interim President and VP of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), and President of Songtrust at Downtown Music Holdings, where she grew the platform to manage over 3 million copyrights for 350,000 writers in 145 countries.
Molly became President of CD Baby in 2024, leading the independent distribution platform that serves artists worldwide. She was previously CMO of Downtown Music Holdings. Billboard named her a Digital Power Player in 2018 and listed her in Women in Music for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024. Music Week awarded her International Woman of the Year in 2024.
