Pattie Maes

Pattie Maes is Associate Head and Professor in MIT's Program in Media Arts and Sciences, where she directs the Fluid Interfaces research group. With over 30 years advancing human-computer interaction, she pioneered work on software agents, wearable computing, and cognitive enhancement technologies.

Her research explores how AI can augment human memory, attention, and decision-making. Pattie has founded multiple startups, published widely in top journals, and shaped how we think about the future of human-machine collaboration.
